POP using Webmail
Access your Webmail account to make adjustments that will affect all your devices. To do this:
– Open an Internet Browser (Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer) and go to
https://office.officepride.com/webmail
– Enter your email address and your password (if you do not know your password contact ITIndiana at (317) 885-7049 to get it) – click on Log in
– Once you are into your email account you will click on the little arrow next to your email address in the upper right. This will open a dropdown menu. Click on Email Filters
– This will take you to a new page with the option to create a new filter
– Click on the “Create a New Filter” button
– In the box below “Filter Name” you will enter a name for your new filter. (It should have something to do with Spam Filter)
– In the box under “Rules” the default setting will be “From”. You will click on the little arrow in this box and choose “Subject” from the dropdown options. In the box to the right of that box the default setting will be “contains”. Leave this as the choice. There is a larger box underneath both of the boxes. Click in the box and enter
***SPAM***
– In the box under “Actions” the default will be “Discard Message”. You can leave this alone as well if you would like,
HOWEVER: if you choose this option you will not be able to recover any deleted emails and may miss emails that get mistakenly identified as Spam! As a result the better option is to click on the little arrow and choose “Deliver to Folder”. This will result in another box appearing. Click on the “Browse” button to the right. This will cause another box to appear which will have INBOX in it. If you click on the little “+” sign to the left of INBOX, it will expand to show you some other folder options including: spam. Click on the spam folder and then the “Create” button.
– The new rule should appear in the Email filters page and will begin filtering new emails as they come in. You should see a reduction in the Spam emails that show up in your inbox. If there continue to be emails that you believe should be marked as Spam but are not getting identified as spam, contact us (at the number above) and we can modify the rule/create another rule that will be more aggressive with identifying what is considered spam as well as discuss the possible results you should expect etc.
